David Burton, Jr. 64, of Johnson City,  formerly of Queens, passed into eternal life January 27, 2018 He was received by his beloved daughter Patricia Thomas Jones who preceded him in death on March 23, 2016.

David was born and raised in Queens, NY. After school he served briefly in the U.S. Army and worked for Pioneer Transportation as a school bus driver. He possessed a naturally happy and playful spirit. He took great delight in making others laugh and even in the midst of all the pain and struggles he bore with his illness he always kept smiling. He deeply enjoyed sports, particularly basketball and the NY Giants. 
 
He is survived by his companion Cynthia Thomas who lovingly cared for him at home, his children, Paul Thomas and Mani Grant, his siblings Alan, Brenda and Doris and his grandchildren Adrianna, Terrel, Mackenzie and Tristan
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday  February 3, 2018 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00-2:00 pm.
