David Eisenberg, 85, of Vestal died May 7, 2017 at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Gussie Eisenberg. He is survived by his wife Virginia Eisenberg, his sister Francis Resnick and her husband Dr. Robert Resnick, Professor of Psychology, of Richmond, VA, his brother Dr. Benjaman Eisenberg and his wife Susan of Boca Raton, FL, Virginia's sons Darrell Brooks and his wife Marina, Daniel Brooks and his wife Dorothy, several, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Ruth Warshawsky and her husband Donald, of Scranton, PA. David graduated from Binghamton Central High School and then enlisted in the Air Force for four years. He then attended SUNY (Harpur College) Binghamton and graduated top of his accounting class in 1959. He was a member of the Founders Club at SUNY Binghamton for the past several years. He also maintained continuous membership at the "Y" Athletic Club for over sixty years and enjoyed all his friends he met there. He was employed by the IRS, having worked in Binghamton, Buffalo and NYC for several years before returning to Binghamton. He owned the Value Discount Store on Washington Avenue in Endicott for many years after which he retired to enjoy a life of  golf and bridge. He was a lifelong supporter of Beth David Synagogue and the Jewish Community Center. He was also a supporter of the Community Foundation for South Central New York and established his own charitable trust to support Jewish charities. He spent many enjoyable winters in Florida with his wife, and many other enjoyable vacations over the years. He will be remembered for his quick witted personality which continued to make people laugh. For all his friends at the "Y" he wish an "Adios, see you in the great blue sky" and from his wife Ginny he is always "Unforgettable".
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Beth David Cemetery, Conklin. Military honors will be accorded by the US Air Force. Friends are invited to call at the family home for Shiva on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm. Please do not send flowers, instead consider a memorial gift to Jewish Family Services or the Jewish Federation of Broome County, both at 500 Clubhouse Rd. Vestal, 13850.
