Dolores A. Tyneway, passed away March 18, 2018. She was born September 18, 1928 in Johnson City, NY, daughter of William and Mildred (Meade) Murray. She married Frederick Tyneway, together they had 5 children. She was predeceased by Frederick and her son Gary (Ruth) Tyneway. She is survived by her daughters Dolores (William) Robi, Cheryl Slocum, Susan (Thomas) Murphy and son Mark Tyneway (Kathy Wheaton). She has 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Dolores raised her family on the West side of Binghamton and was a member of the Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Over the years Dolores had several careers beyond motherhood, including switchboard operator at the Binghamton Telephone Company, working with her husband Fred who founded All Lines Insurance Agency, which she still owned and managed at the time of her passing. She retired from Wilson Hospital in 1995 after 20 years of service. She also managed a successful apartment rentals business as well.
Later in life she married Charles Tell. She spent many days on their farm in Susquehanna, PA. Charlie and Dolores shared a common love for animals. Dolores enjoyed watching her NY Yankees and the Giants. Upon Charlie's passing in 2012 she moved to Hopewell Junction, NY to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Thomas Murphy, where she made many friends and acquaintances in the community.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at the Boulevard United Methodist Church, 113 Grand Blvd. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery at a later date. Dolores supported the local animal shelters and the Humane Society over the years. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you consider a donation to the Broome County Humane Society.
