Windsor: Edmund J. Wansart, 84, a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and dear friend to many, entered into eternal rest July 10, 2016. His beloved wife of 63 years, Carol predeceased him in 2014. He is survived by his five children; Edmund Wansart, Jr., Cindy (Raymond) Smith, Terry Wansart, Michelle (Thomas) Richards and Annette Kenyon, six grandchildren; Edmund J. Wansart, III, Sarah Wansart, Jillian Richards and Kacey Richards and twins Melissa Kenyon and Matt Kenyon. His life was enhanced by caregivers who became a part of our family. Ed was an exceptional provider; who was a retired elevator mechanic for Millar Elevator Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the American Legion. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and bird watching as well as spending time at his home in Henderson Harbor on Lake Ontario. Throughout his life he was known as a jokester and an avid Buffalo Bills and Syracuse fan. He will be greatly missed and remembered as, "the man who loved as hard as he worked."
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Windsor. A private interment will be in Bath National Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
