My wife, Judy, was introduced to Emmerich @ Dick's wedding in Colorado. Emmerich conducted the service flawlessly & when Judy commented that He could hear better than me, despite the age differential, I had to agree. Emmerich was always a very solicitous person, willing to listen & always wanting to know how we were doing! He asked lots of questions & always had a nice comment to add to a conversation. My best memory was when I first moved to Chicago & he came to visit. He politely bought me dinner at Chez Paul's in the city. It was an extraordinary dinner of which I will never forget. To his benefactors & Legacy I can only say that Emmerich Bares was always a GREAT GUY to me & He will be missed.

My father, Charles Schiela was a good friend of your Dad from Hollis, New York. They were in Demolay together. When I went to Binghamton to attend Nursing School my father contacted your Parent's who watched over me and were just a phone call away if I needed anything. I remember going with your Parents one night to the Binghamton Club dinner that was a fun night to remember. I am sorry for your loss. Kathy Schiela Hurlburt

Dear Beverly and family,
I first met Emmerich when I worked in the Treasurer's Office for the City of Binghamton. He was such a gentleman and so dedicated to providing affordable houses for those less fortunate. I knew he was in his 90s when I left Binghamton in 2013, and couldn't believe that he was 101 years old and still involved in his properties. We always spent several minutes chatting each time he came to pay his bills. You and your family are in my prayers. God bless you. Sister Anne Wysocki (Latham, NY)

Always a pleasure to see Mr. Bares. His last visit to the office was May 2, 2017 and he was robust and spirited. Over 1,000 entries in our computer system with the Bares name - he was an amazing and kind businessman.

My condolences to the family. Emerick was a great man he stood by after I had problems. He would walk in a place I was renting from him sit down in a chair change my channel on the TV and asked if I had green tea. Never can forget that. I didn't mind and probably wouldn't matter if I did. RIP.

I am so sorry for your loss, I have known Mr. Bares for many year through my work at the Broome County Sheriff's Office. What a wonderful man, he will be deeply missed by the "girls" in the Civil Office.
