Irene (Simkulet) Armstrong, 87 of Binghamton, passed away June 10, 2017 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. She was predeceased by her husband Corky Armstrong, her parents John and Mary Simkulet, brothers Michael, William and John, Jr., sister Mary and a niece Donna Marie. She is survived by two sons Corky and  Michael Armstrong, grandchildren Kristin (Adam) Simonson and Jason, great-grandson Carter, a brother and sisters-in-law, Peter (Patricia) Simkulet and Geneva Simkulet, several nieces and nephews, two special cousins Barbara and Sandra Guzzy and her caretaker Tammy Boyd. She was a member of the Holy Spirt Byzantine Catholic Church. A Panachida service will be offered at 10:00 am Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-10:00 am. Burial will follow in Holy Spirit Cemetery. Please consider a memorial contribution to Mercy House 212 N.
