Sternberg, John O. Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed away on March 2, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Siegfried Sternberg and brothers-in-law, Joseph Riger, Fred Anhouse, and Guy Lowenstein.  He is survived by his loving “dahling” wife, Fern.  They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January. John is also survived by his children, Barry and Susan Sternberg of Jupiter, Florida and Marci and David Goodwin of Vestal, NY.  He is also survived by his sister, Ursula Lowenstein of Denver, CO, and his sister-in-law, Sheila Riger of Ormond Beach, FL. John also has three granddaughters, Jennifer and Jeff Kurkoski, Hillary and Joe Schwantes and Samantha Goodwin and Kyle Lake, as well as great granddaughter Sabrina Schwantes.  He also leaves behind a large extended family. John was born in Oldenburg, Germany on August 29, 1928.  He and his family went through many troubled times before arriving in the United States in 1946.  John also overcame many adversities in his life, however, when talking with him, you would never know of them.  Nothing was too much for him and he never complained.  His family was his pride and joy.  John was a member and Past Master of Philetus Lodge No. 1023, Free and Accepted Masons, a member of Kalurah Shriners, and was also active in several community charities.  He enjoyed playing golf, paddle ball and watching old movies.  He worked at Federal Electronics, Harvey Electronics and finally at Simcona Electric.
