Laurie Lee Lippman.
Born February 17, 1961, Seattle, Washington.
Died of cancer at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, May 30, 2017, at age 56. Her final difficult months were eased considerably by the medical appointment assistance and many kindnesses of Lois Brownell of Doraville.
Her parents were the late Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Lippman, of Seattle, Wa. Her mother raised German Shepherds  for shows in the U.S. and Canada, often accompanied and assisted by Laurie. Laurie also
raised, loved, and rode horses. Moving to Florida as a teenager, she won numerous equestrian competition trophies. She spoke often of her special fondness for her maternal grandfather, "Oz", in Ocala. Moving back to Seattle she attended the University of Washington.
On her return to Seattle, she also worked at Nordstrom's and tutored English as Second Language, ESL. She later moved and attended Binghamton University. She tutored Organic Chemistry for many appreciative, one-on-one, Binghamton University students, and, in one instance, having a paid attendance of 80 students for one of her popular three-hour test preparations. Laurie later worked for the postal service and as a census-taker in Broome County. She was an active and respected member of Broome County NYRAD, a NYS anti-fracking group participating in several organized fact-finding trips to fracking-affected, Dimock, Pa. In her final years, she enjoyed online offer research, gardening, and her three poodle-mix dogs and two  horses at her home in the countryside near Harpursville,  NY. For several years, she was a active member and Master Gardener of Cornell Cooperative Extension in Binghamton.
Laurie will be greatly missed by Stanley Gluck, her companion of more than twenty years, her horse Sarah, her three dogs, Bucky, Marley, and Everette, and by her many friends at NYRAD. She rests at Spring Forest Cemetery in Binghamton.
