Mary Jane Soule
Daytona Beach, Florida   May 29,1935 - June 13,2016
Our mother Mary Jane Soule passed peacefully into the Great Hereafter on June 13, 2016 at Susquehanna Nursing Home in Johnson City,NY with family by her side.
Born Mary Jane Bailey in New London, Ct. she was welcomed into this world by her parents Henry & Agnes Bailey & her big brother Walter "Spud" Bailey whom she adored her entire life.
While working in a soda shop as a teenager, an energetic & pretty Mary caught the eye and affections  of the shy, gangly 23 year old manager Fred, and soon after, on her 19th birthday wedding bells rang and Mary & Fred Soule, Jr. were married.
She went on to work as a telephone operator at New England Telephone Co. where it only took her one year to earn enough money to buy the car of her dreams,  a 1957 Cadillac Convertible, which she absolutely loved!
Together she & Fred had four children; Sharon Deaton Winn of Florida, Janine Soule & Suzanne Soule of NY & Jeffrey Soule of Florida.
Mary was definitely not the most conventional mother, her motto was "Where there's a will, there's a way" & provided her children with an upbringing full of travel and many highly memorable adventures. She encouraged independence in all her kid's which made us strong, resourceful, compassionate & responsible adults.
Mary loved to laugh & dance,  she possessed a witty and dry sense of humor, she was extremely vibrant, audacious, often outrageous, and never boring.
Finding the sunny Florida lifestyle most suitable, she was a Florida resident for over 40 years. After becoming a widow unexpectedly at the age of 51, she was too social and full of life to be alone for long and re-married, four more times in fact. Great fellows all, but sadly widowed by all. We kiddingly referred to her as "Liz Taylor" because of her love for fine jewelry & terrific men.
Although her stay was brief there, we would like to sincerely thank the staff at Susquehanna Nursing Home for the great care they provided for our mother.
There will be a Memorial Service in Florida at a later date.
We love you & miss you very  much Ma.
Earth is a little bit more boring without you but, we know your dance card is full in heaven, God Bless!
