Peter Hartmut Huber

 

Peter Hartmut Huber, 64, passed away March 27, 2018. He is survived by his beloved family, his loving wife of 43 years, Cathy (Basa) Huber, his children, Dan Huber, Bryon (Amy) Huber and Aileen Miller (Nick), 4 grandchildren, Alexis and Noel Miller, Mia and Hunter Ploutz, all of Binghamton, his parents Peter and Elsa Huber of Conklin, brothers Gerry (Renee) Huber of Binghamton, Richard Huber of Ithaca and Robert (Lydia) Huber of CA, brother-in-law, Fred Basa, sisters-in-law, Ann Sands, Laura Burdick, Peggy Smith, Margaret Terriberry and Bobbie Burdick, his aunts Margaret Betz,  Eva Hirschberg and Barbara Guhring, an uncle Fritz Huber, niece Deanne Huber, nephews Austin and Jeremy (Ashley) Huber, Lino and Josh Base, nieces Melitta Basa and Suzanne Crocket, and many cousins in the U.S. and Germany. He was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Stephen and Sally Basa and brothers-in-law, Harry and Stephen Basa.
  Peter was born in Germany and at age 4 moved to St. John's N.B. Canada where he lived until moving to Conklin in 1969. He graduated from Susquehanna Valley  High School in 1972. He worked for Acme Markets for 10 years and then at Frito Lay, where he retired from after 32 years of  service. Peter enjoyed golf, bowling and boating, especially at his home at Lake Wallenpaupack, PA, where he built may cherished memories of time spent with his family. He was a member of the Binghamton German Club and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all, he was a fan of his grandchildren and delighted in his role as an "Opa".
  The family wishes to thank Fresenius Kidney Care for the medical care they provided to Peter during his illness.
  The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 am Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton, followed by a funeral service at 11:45 am in the Tower of Memories Chapel at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers,  Since his grandchildren were the loves of his life the family requests that you please make a donation directly to them for the future use of his grandchildren.
