Raymond Wilcox, 79, passed away on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Thelma Wilcox. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Naomi Rector Wilcox, children Andrew (Lorraine) and Amy, grandchildren Nicholas (fiancee Brittany) and Paige and his sisters Janice Jones, Darlene Wilcox and Linda Aldrich. Ray lived life quietly, calmly and caring. After graduation from Binghamton North High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as an aviation mechanic. He worked as a skilled auto mechanic for Van Atta Buick and Gardner Motors (Later Feduke Motors). He was a Cub Scout leader for Cub Pack 100, coached Johnson City Little League, delivered Meals-on-Wheels and volunteered in the adaptive ski program at Greek Peak for 30 years. Ray served as an Elder, Deacon and trustee in the Presbyterian Church. He was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City.


A memorial service will be held Sunday August 20, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City with the Rev. Robert T. Peak officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery in the Town of Sanford.
