As a quilter works on a great quilt, each square of the quilt contributes to its integrity and beauty.
Sofia was a quilter.
Every aspect of her life worked together to reflect the special person God created her to be.
Most important was the loving and fun times she spent with her family and friends.
In her career she was a secretary, working first at Marine Midland and State Farm, and then for many years as an executive secretary at NYSEG until her retirement.
She was also a member and held several offices with the National Secretary's Association.
When he created her, God gifted Sofia with a beautiful voice.  She sang and was a soloist in community productions and in church choirs
Her faith walk began in the Greek Orthodox and Methodist churches. After her marriage she became a Presbyterian for the rest of her life.
At Conklin Presbyterian/Broad Ave North Church she was a Deacon and helped to organize the choir music and take care of the choir robes..
She also was part of the Prayer Shawl ministry there and many were blessed with her beautiful shawls.
Sofia will be laid to rest at  a family graveside service at 11 o'clock at Vestal Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, July 23, with a luncheon to follow at Conklin Presbyterian Church.
