Surrounded by her family, Stella Stanchak, 83, of Windsor left us December 21, 2016, to spend Christmas in Heaven with her children, Laurie and Sonny who died in 2016 and 1999. Stella is survived by her loving family; John her devoted husband of 63 years, a resident of Good Shepherd Fairview Home and her loving son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Deb Stanchak of Windsor, her cherished grandson Kyle, a son-in-law, John Swald and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving child of Vasyl and Elizabeth (Langazov) Petrus. Stella enjoyed gardening and flowers. She could have been known as a handy-mom or Mrs. Fix-it, because she could fix almost anything around the house. For many years she worked as an aide at B.O.C.E.S. The family extends their gratitude to the caring staff at Fairview Home for the loving care they provided to Stella.
