Stephen Basa, III, 55, of Conklin passed away unexpectedly October 22, 2014 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen Basa, Jr. and Sally Basa, and a brother Harry Crockett. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Pete Huber of Binghamton, his brother Fred Basa,of Endicott,  his aunt, mary Everald, of Tennessee, his uncle, Francis Basa of Binghamton, nieces and nephews, Aileen Miller,  Dan Huber, Bryon Huber, Melitta  Basa and Lino Basa, 2 great-nieces, several cousins, including John Haggerty, and many friends. He lived in Truth or Consequences, NM for 20 years and loved telling his family stories about when he lived there. He worked at S.P.E.A.K. animal shelter and loved all animals. He will be missed and mourned by all those whose lives he touched.
 
A memorial service will be 4:00 pm Saturday October 25 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
