Stephen D. Swawola, 74, of Binghamton died unexpectedly Feb. 24, 2017. He is survived by his children; Stephen, Jr., PA, William (Angie) of Harpursville, Darleen Empet of Port Crane, Douglas of Kirkwood, Tamera (Jeff Perrego) Sutliff of Conklin and Edward (Jennifer) of Windsor, his fiancee Linda Sunderland of Whitney Point, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters Carol Persamoni and Mary Lou Butler, a brother Dennis, the mother of his children, Dorothy Swawola, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his rescue dog "Sarge". He was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 1999. Steve was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed NASCAR. He loved his family deeply.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday. Those wishing may  make a memorial gift to the B.C. Humane Society. Please sign his guestbook
