Claire Harrington Obituary

In the early morning hours of December 16th, 2019 heaven gained an angel as Claire L. Harrington, 63, of Binghamton unexpextantly went to be with our Lord.  She is predeceased by her parents Douglas and Clara Harrington, and sister Susan Hanyon.  She is survived by her sisters Linda Harrington, Helen Harrington, and Rosemarie Esworthy.  Brothers, Douglas Harrington and John Harrington (Linda).  And many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Never having children of her own Claire had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, and loved them like her own.  To some she was a second mom and best friend.
Claire was a graduate of Chenango Valley High School.  She was a devoted employee at Endicott Coil for 32 years, where she made abiding friendships.  In her late 20's Claire's health started presenting her with many challenges.  They continued through the years, but she fought every medical road block with courage and determination.  Her life was not easy, but she would rarely complain.  She had a special zest for life and was always up for a little adventure, regardless of her limitations.
Claire's family and friends were the focal point of her life.  It was her everything.  Nothing made her happier then surrounding herself by those that she loved, and would rarely miss an opportunity to spend time with them.  Claire had a smile that would light up the room, and a contagious laugh.  Anyone who knew Claire can consider themself a lucky person.  She had a beautiful soul and was most kind.  She was the most genuine person, and never treated anyone badly.  She saw the good in everyone, which is an admirable trait.  The world would be such a better place if there were more people like Claire.  There is not enough space to write down everything that Claire loved doing, but some of her favorites included dining out, playing cards, attending concerts, and going to the casinos.
A celebration of Claire's life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 11th, 2020 at the American Legion J Mangan Post 1194.  Located at 363 W. Service Road, Binghamton NY 13901.
