Francis L. Smith, 84, of Binghamton went to be with the Lord, April 24, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife, Rev. Marlene Smith on March 11. He is survived by his daughters, Lorraine (William) Collins of Binghamton,  Cindy  (Anthony) Turner of Fort Mills, SC, his son Andrew Roy of Binghamton, eight grandchildren; Scott (Lisa) Collins, Kyra (Jason) Farthing, Paul (Kylea) Collins, Mara (Chris Forsyth) Collins, Ryan, Collins, Myranda (Lucas) Woehrle, Alisha Turner and Caressa Turner, his brother James Smith of FL and sister Shirley (Daniel) Callan of Afton, NY. Frank enjoyed bowling, photography, ceramics, camping, trains and the NY Mets. He was a gentle spirt who never complained and  was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church, 466 Chenango St. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial gift to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave., Endicott 13760, in recognition of the tender care they provided to Frank during his final days. The Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home is assisting the family.
