Francis Edward "Fritz" Wright, 92, of Kirkwood passed away June 21, 2019 at Elizabeth Church Manor. He is survived by his wife Sylvia (Pfister) Wright of Kirkwood, his children; Donald Wright, Cynthia Knight (David Kithcart), Karen Fetterman (Lew Trumbach), former son-in-law Mark Knight, grandchildren; Nicholle Meeker (Justin), Lanee Decker (Kurt), great-grandchildren; Bella Rose Meeker, Dylan and Damon Decker, sister Lucille Warner, brother Clifford Wright (Joan) and sisters-in-law and brothers in-law Mary Wright, Juanita Lowe (Walter), Priscilla Hawk, Nancy Braman (Gary), Al Dauphinais (Marie) and George Pfister (Ann), his mother-in-law Nora Pfister and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Myrtle Wright and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Rose Dauphinais.
He was a life member of the Peter Campon Council #206 Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. Post 478. He was also a member of the Broome Senior Citizen Center in Harpursville and the American Legion. A native of Deposit, NY, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war for many years he was self employed as a roofing and siding contractor. He also owned the A to Z Shop in Deposit. Fritz loved to work and do things to help people. He was one of the trail builders for Innsbruck USA ski facility in the Town of Binghamton. He also enjoyed old cars, antiques and woodworking. The family extends a "Thank you" to all the 3rd floors staff at Elizabeth Church Manor for all their special care and attention.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday June 29 at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Military Honors will be conferred by the U.S. Navy at 3:00 pm. A private burial will be held in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association in Endicott.
