Fritz Orzelek 61 of Binghamton, died March 13, 2018. Fritz leaves behind his mother Genevieve Ado-Mai, and his father Frank Orzelek, along with his 8 siblings: Frank Thomas Orzelek, Sandra (Paul) Zweig, Linda (Dwayne) Porterfield, Rita O’Neil, Christopher (Tammy) Orzelek, Elizabeth Camp, David (Laura) Orzelek and Jack Orzelek, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Fritz always held music and performance close to his heart. His passion began at a young age. By age 13 he became involved with radio broadcasting at WINR. Fritz attended Julliard School of Music, SUNY Oswego and Binghamton University, earning degrees in Music, Biology, Biochemistry and Physics. His passion for music led him to become a composer and performer. One of his proudest works is “On Front St, 03 APR 2009” which he wrote in response to the tragedy at the ACA. Fritz also composed, “A Little Children’s Music”, Book 1, which was premiered by the Tri-Cities Opera, performed by Soprano Brenda Dawe. In addition to TCO, Fritz performed at numerous venues throughout the country and locally with The Downtown Singers, various churches and Binghamton University.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside Dr. Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the temple from 10 – 11 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a gift to the music funds at Temple Concord. Shiva will be observed in the community room at 5 Riverside Dr. on Tuesday until 3 pm. Services provided by the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton.
