Harold Ganoung Obituary

Port Crane: Harold D. Ganoung, 85, passed away  Friday March 23, 2018 at his home, after his courageous fight with cancer. He is predeceased by his parents Austin and Amber Ganoung, sister Barbara Stoddard, and brother Jack Ganoung, He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Majorie, his children:  Shirley (Joel) Munson, Mark (Laurie) Ganoung, Cindy Armstrong, Lisa Soule.  Grandchildren, Kevin (Debra) Falank, Korey Falank (Krissy Williams), Chad Ganoung, Kirk (Michelle) Armstrong, Traci (Brian) Parks , Gunnar Soule, Colby Soule and greatgrandchildren: Ian Falank, Connor Ganoung, Sienna and Riker Parks, and Lilly Armstrong, brother: James (Ellen) Ganoung, sister Marlane Ward (Ray Gholson), several nieces and nephews.   Harold was one of the fortunate people in the world whose profession was his passion.   He loved farming and all aspects of it.  He had an eye for cattle and could size up one in a minute.       He owned/operated his own dairy, trucked a variety of livestock (including the most difficult ones) to and from auction houses for many farmers, and did custom field work.  He was a supervisor at Universal pipe plant, and worked for the Town of Fenton while getting his dairy up and running.  He could repair any piece of equipment and no project intimidated him, no matter how big!    A celebration of life event will be held from 4-7 pm Friday March 30 at the Port Crane Fire Hall on Rte 369. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lourdes Hospice   ( https://www.lourdes.com/about-us/foundation/donate-online/ )  or Mercy House ( http://mercyhousesoutherntier.com/donate.html ).
