Our beloved mother and grandmother Josephine M. (Snopek) Kika, was called home to be with her Lord and into the open arms of her beloved husband Edward, who died in 1988. Josephine is survived by the family she so deeply loved and cherished; her children Edward (Deborah) Kika of Friendsville, PA, Joseph (Gail Margaritis) Kika of Binghamton and Mary (Mike) Shields of Binghamton, her 9 grandchildren; Brian (Jenn) Kika, Robert (Lori) Kika, Erin Kika, Edward Joseph Kika, Jennifer Kika, James Kika, Shawn Kika, Nicole Shields and Amanda (Randy) Rodzinka, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren also survive along with her sister Hilda Wood, brother Steve Snopek and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Josephine was predeceased by her parents Marcel and Hilda Snopek and siblings Agnes Snopek, Marcella Braunbeck, Joe Snopek and Hank Snopek
Josephine was a member of the Slovak Lutheran Church of the Ascension and it's Women's Society. She was a member of the Slovak Lutheran Club and the Czechoslovak Moravan Club. She enjoying playing BINGO, knitting and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed her family and being a mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Following the service she will be buried in the Slovak Lutheran Cemetery in Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home from 3:00-6:00 pm Monday.
