Lora grew up in Lvov where she finished High School and University with a degree in Engineering. She was married to Fillip until his death in 1996. They had a wonderful life together and, as a family, with their two loving children, Alik and Jeanette. The family lived in former USSR until they moved to America in 1979.

After the death of Fillip, Lora married Aleksandr Kaltakov, who has 3 loving daughters of his own Irina, Maria, and Olga. Aleksandr and Lora lived a very happy life full of love and happiness. They loved to spend time with their grandchildren telling stories of their childhood and Gods Love for them.

When Lora was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she accepted that it was the will of God and that God had a plan for her. She did not tell any of her children or show any signs of the illness. For 10 years, she continued to live her life to the fullest and she made it her mission during that time to show us all how to walk in faith and trust in God's plan, despite fear or pain.

Then in 2016, she had a fall and what everybody thought to be a broken hip turned to be metastasized stage 4 breast cancer. During the last months of her life, when the cancer was taking its toll on her body, her spirits remained high. She spent more time praying for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, listening to Christian songs and sermons.

She was a beloved by everyone at the Russian Ukraine Baptist Church. She was a member of the church choir where she praised God with her voice. She was also very close to the youth members and children of the church. She would knit, socks, hats scarves, and sweaters for newborns and babies.
