Phyllis Burns, 67, of Binghamton died unexpectedly September 14, 2018. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William "Butch" Burns on June 20, 2018, two children, Shelly Fairbanks and John Edwards and her father Robert Fairbanks, Sr. She is survived by her children; Scott Fiske, Bambi (Tom) Madden, Jackie (Pudge) Fiske, Marjorie (David, Jr.) Rought, William (Shannon) Burns, Jr., Floyd (Rachel) Burns, Amanda (John) Moran and Brittney (Cody Diehl) Bunger, her mother Phyllis Fairbanks, her siblings; Robert (Darlene) Fairbanks, Jr., Tammy Fairbanks, Sonja Hastings, Melody Emes, Robin Fairbanks and Barbara Fairbanks, 45, grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phyllis lived a life devoted to her family. She loved family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a great baker and will be remembered for her delicious apple pie. She enjoyed country music and reading and loved Elvis. For many years she worked as a tax preparer at Jackson-Hewitt.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday September 20, 2018 at the Blessed Hope Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 225 Bevier St. Binghamton.
