Alice M. Matthews, 60, died July 17, 2021 at her home. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald J. Matthews of Binghamton; two sons Andrew (Brandi) Matthews of Johnson City and Paul (Jenny) Matthews of Binghamton; 3 grandchildren Austin, Aiden and Reagan; her siblings Patricia (Russell) McNulty of Conklin, Sharon (Christopher) Hussey of Bethesda, MD, Alan (Sue) Flohr, of Foster City, CA, and Carolynn O'Connor of Sayreville, NJ, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Marian Flohr and a granddaughter Kennedy. Alice graduated from SVHS where she played the clarinet and made many lifelong friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending times with her girlfriends, especially on their many trips to Lake George. She was an optimist and was loving and caring, but most of all she was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am -11:30 am Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. At 11:30 family and friends are invited to participate in a time of sharing memories. A luncheon will follow at a location to be announced.
