It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the matriarch of our family, Bonnie Lynne (Kane) Tanzini, passed away peacefully at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier on April 10, 2026 with some of her family at her side.
Bonnie is predeceased by her mother, June Drake, father, Edward Kane, and infant son, Sonny Tanzini.
She is survived by her beloved son, Raphael Tanzini; devoted sister, Cherry O’Brien; brother, Larry (Karrie) Rajnes; nephews, Todd (Heather) and Christopher O’Brien; special niece (friend by choice), Megan (TJ) O’Brien; great-niece, Madison O’Brien; great-nephews, Corey, Dylan, Kyle, Devon, Alexander, Jack, and Liam O’Brien, and Justen & Seneca Shaff (whom she often referred to as grand-nephews); her great-great-nephews, Elias O’Brien and Grayson Shaff; many special friends, especially Beverly Jones; and her ever faithful soul dog, Jada Rose.
Bonnie was a hairdresser for the Vestal Nursing Center for many years and was also a “part-time temporary” usherette for over 40 years at the Broome County Arena.
Bonnie will be sorely missed by all whom love her dearly. She, her amazing laugh, and personality have created so many treasured memories that will never be forgotten. So many memories and stories will be told in her honor.
Per her request, there will be a memorial celebration at a later date to be announced.
Her friends and family wish to sincerely thank the Mercy House of the Southern Tier for the tremendously wonderful care they gave to Bonnie during her short stay.
Please consider a donation to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier or the Broome County Humane Society in her memory.
