Charles E. Fernald, 86, passed away January 20, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Janice Fernald; children Ricky (Lillian) Fernald, Daniel (Christine Barnes) Fernald, and Robert (Nancy) Fernald; grandchildren, Dylan Fernald, Renee Conley, Jennifer Fernald; great-grandchildren, Alanna Fernald, Colton and Elianna Conley; siblings, Linda (John) Vitale, Carolyn Heath and Michael Gribbohm. He is predeceased his siblings Connie Blewett, Wayne Fernald Kathy Jackson and Nancy O’Hara.
Chuck had a lifelong passion for cars, especially vintage vehicles. He particularly loved restoring Street Rods. Chuck was the owner/founder of C&R Used Cars where for over 40 years, he dedicated his time to fixing, selling, and enjoying automobiles.
A graveside service will be held 3:30 pm Saturday Jan. 24 at Chenango Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a charitable donation in memory of Chuck to the Broome County Humane Society or the Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
