Our hearts already miss Connor, who died March 14th at the young age of 31. Connor was a friendly, smiling young man who brought his unique understanding and love of people to any conversation. He is survived by his mom, Albertina Porcari, his dad, James Hickey, and his sister, Melina Hickey, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Connor lived most of his life in Albuquerque, NM, where he had many friends and played football at La Cueva High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science at the University of New Mexico, worked in physical therapy for years, then moved to Binghamton.
He was an avid New York Giants football fan, Los Angeles Lakers NBA fan, and he enjoyed many activities including golf, cornhole, and hiking. He would go on hikes with his family and particularly enjoyed Otsiningo and Recreation parks in Binghamton, exploring the Sandia and other mountains in New Mexico, and hiking in Arizona, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.
Connor had fond memories of camping, swimming, and exploring Abiquiu Lake in northern New Mexico with his sister and all of their friends. He also enjoyed sharing many meals and conversations with his family and he appreciated the love and support they all gave him throughout his life. He will be missed but we know he is on a wonderful new trail with his friends and family who have passed on before him.
The family appreciates the outpouring of help, love, and prayers offered by so many in our community. Connor enjoyed a simple life. The family asks that you simply remember him and the times you shared with him. A celebration of life is planned soon. God bless our beautiful son, brother, and friend, whose spirit will live with us forever.
