David D. Miller

David DeWire Miller, 80, died 26th March 2021 at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, NY from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. A private celebration of his life will be held at Crossroads of Life Church Binghamton, NY, Thursday, April 8 with a calling hour at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm. Mr. Miller was born 21st Sept. 1940 in York, Pa to Dora (Dewire) and Rev. Joseph H. Miller. He graduated from Lock Haven High School, Lock Haven, Pa. and he married Patricia Mae Baker and they raised three children. He had a successful career with the Brush Moore chain of newspapers before retiring. Later in life, David met Mary Swartz and they were married 15th April 2007 at Crossroads of Life Church Binghamton, NY. He enjoyed volunteering at the Campville Fire Dept. Mary was at his side when he passed peacefully. Preceded in death by his parents Rev. Joseph and Dora, and his brothers Joseph Jr. and Paul. He is survived by two sisters; Mary Louise and Ruth Anna. Also son Kevin, Daughter Terri and Daughter Cindy, as well as 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. A huge thank you to the staff of Willow Point Nursing Home who loved and cared deeply for our dad through very difficult times. Also to all the people in social services who helped point us in the right direction to get the help needed for our dad.
