Obituary
Deborah Eileen (Kupfersmith) Gaffney received her eternal reward on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Deb was born on January 21, 1971 in Santa Clara, CA to Robert and Nancy Kupfersmith, joining her older sister, Diana (Kupfersmith) Stirratt.
She graduated from Owego Free Academy High School in 1989 where she played volleyball and saxophone in the band. In 1990 she married Robert Gaffney. They had three children, Christopher, Jenna, and Caitlin who were the joy of her life.
Deb made a profound difference in the lives of the many special needs children she taught over 17 years as a one-on-one aide in Binghamton Public Schools. Her artistry was evident in her beautiful gardens, crafts, and home improvement projects. She loved yoga, walking, and pedaling her yellow bike. She loved animals of all kinds but especially her dog Loki. Her favorite place was lounging on her sun filled porch with a cup of coffee in hand. She befriended neighbors, cheered on the underdog, shared with those in need, and always had a smile to share.
A celebration of life service will be held at Common Ground Church of the Nazarene in Decatur, IN on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 4pm. The service will be broadcast on Facebook live at https://www.facebook.com/cgnazarene/ and Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7781359639 to allow her New York and International friends to join.
