Debra Meder Obituary

Debra (Epley) Meder 67, born and raised in Otisville, MI passed away peacefully after a long illness December 6, 2025 in Endicott, NY while surrounded by loving family. She will be joining her father, Jack Epley, and her mother, Frances (McMannes) Epley with our Heavenly Father. Her life will be celebrated by her husband Tony Meder; her sister Kathy Epley; Mother- and Father-in-law Tom and Angie Meder; brothers- and sisters-in-law Troy and Selena Meder, Todd Meder and Jessamy Green-Husted; and her nieces and nephews Emily Epley, Eric Epley, Brett Epley, Austin Meder (Mary Irland), Nolan Meder (Megan Baker), Lucas Meder, Dimitri Meder, and Cordelia Meder; and her grand-niece Emmersynn.

Debbie graduated from Lakeville High School and attended Mott Community College and Baker College. She had a long career as a civilian in law enforcement, beginning as a Court Clerk and culminating as Secretary for the Chief of Police of the City of Columbus. The past 15 years, she enjoyed her retirement.

Debbie and Tony met in 1994 and married in February of 1996; she was a loving wife and Tony’s best friend. They shared many adventures and good times. Debbie loved decorating for all holidays with Christmas and Halloween being her favorite; her home and yard were always the talk of the family. Her favorite times were with her extended family, especially the extended family vacations every summer for over 30 years. The family knew that Aunt Debbie would always have an amazing party boat float and tons of beach and vacation fun planned.

Debbie’s passion was music; she was first chair trumpet in high school and continued throughout her life playing guitar, piano, and singing for herself and her family. An avid reader of fantasy and science fiction, her favorite authors were Anne McCaffrey and Piers Anthony. Debbie shared all of her passions and hobbies with a large, eclectic group of friends throughout her life.

Debbie was a cat mom to three rescue kitties throughout her life and Kiki (the latest) will certainly miss her. Her other favorite animal is penguins; the dozens of stuffed, painted, and figurine penguins giving rise to her nickname ‘Lil Penguin’.

Per Debbie’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to cancer research would be a wonderful memoriam. A celebration of her life is planned for early Spring in Michigan.
