Donald Lee Endres

Donald Lee Endres, 84, of Vestal, passed away August 7, 2023.  Donald is survived by his wife Suzanne; his children Christine M. Endres, Kathleen E. (Basil) Parlett, and Stephen D. (Jane) Endres; his grandchildren Elias, Christopher, Megan, Brendan, Colin, Michael, Ryan, Katrina, Alex, Alexa, and Michael; his great grandchildren Jon, Hannah, and Molly; his sister Carol (Raymond) Knorr; and many nieces and nephews.  Donald is predeceased by siblings Jack Endres and Eileen Endres.

Don served in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany where he trained as a Weather Service Specialist leading to a thirty plus year career with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasting weather, tracking data, and briefing pilots.  Twenty-two of those years were at the Broome County Airport.

Donald shared sixty loving years of marriage with his wife, Suzanne.  He was active at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where he taught Confirmation classes.  He was also a lector, Eucharistic minister, and trustee.   Growing flowers and vegetables from seed was his passion. He was a diehard Bills fan and enjoyed fishing year-round on lakes and streams throughout the state. However, his greatest joy was being with babies, especially his grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 am, Friday August 18, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, 465 Clubhouse Rd, Vestal, NY 13850. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at church, Mass will begin at 11:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to Food For The Poor, www.foodforthepoor.com, 6401 Lyons Rd.
