Donald Husband Obituary

Donald Ray Husband, 77, died April 21, 2022. He was born December 31, 1944 in Opelousas, Louisiana and raised in Beaumont, Texas. After attending French High School, Donald enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years. Don made 26 trans-Atlantic voyages abroad the U.S.S. Alcor during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy he met the love of his life Martha, who was also serving in the Navy. They married on April 9, 1966. Don began work at Maine Coil and Transformer Company in 1995 as president and became owner in 2004. He continued to serve as CEO for 27 years until the time of his death. Don enjoyed boating in his leisure time; he explored the Gulf of Mexico, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Delaware River. His greatest joy though, was his family all of whom he loved unconditionally. Don loved Christmas; he was a true Santa. He was very generous to his family and made every year special. Don has a brilliant mind and was a hero to many people. Don was preceded in death by the sudden loss of his grand nephew Holden Tanner. Don will be entombed in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY in a private ceremony.
