Eileen Marie Matthews

Eileen Matthews, 68, passed away unexpectedly, April 4, 2022 in the afternoon. She is survived by her son Adam (Bridgette) Kotsubka and daughter Kristin (Kyle) Mills, grandchildren Rosalyn and Silas, siblings; Maureen (Terry) Clark, Donald Matthews, Peggy (Ken) Warner, Amy (Ken) Krueger and her nieces and nephews; Megan, Nathan, Libby, Brendan, Paul, Andrew, Michaella, Grace and Lilly. She is predeceased by her parents Donald and Katherine Matthews, as well as her siblings Carolyn, Jerry and Alice Matthews.  
She graduated from Seton Catholic Central and went on to work for Merrill Lynch for 30 years. Eileen was always at her happiest when she was able to spend time with family, friends, and with her dog Murphy. She was a guiding light and the glue who held the family together. She was always happy to provide an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on for the entire family and for her best friend, Pat Buckley. 
The family will receive friends Saturday April 9th from 3pm - 5pm at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton (Due to road construction, approach from Bevier St). A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, all are welcome to attend and celebrate Eileen’s life. The family would like to thank the staff of Wilson Memorial Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for their attentive care not only in the past few days, but during Eileen's many difficulties with lung cancer throughout the past year and a half.
