Eric departed this life due to a major stroke on March 13, 2026 at home surrounded by his fur babies, Zoey and Ziggy. Eric previously had three brain bleeds on November 13, 2024 and was disabled. He spent six weeks at Wilson Hospital, four weeks at Sunny View Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady, NY, where he learned to walk again with the aid of a ‘Skeleton’ suit, and four weeks in rehab at Bridgewater. Eric had recently worked for Kiefer Randall Construction and Remodeling, who were like family to him. Previously, he was employed by a number of local remodeling companies. He was good (a perfectionist) at working with his hands and could do carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
Eric is survived by the following people who were “active” in his life: his mother, Mary Reynolds, Port Dickinson; three siblings, Andrew Reynolds, Gardiner, NY, John (Christie) Reynolds, Fuquay Varina, NC, and Lisa (Christian) Brundiech, Endwell, NY; son, Michael Rifenbury, Philadelphia, PA; significant other, Sandra Ballas, Castle Creek; her sons, Dustin (Karissa) Ballas, Castle Creek, and Scott (Kelsey) Ballas, Endicott; four granddaughters, Cassie Ballas, Scarlett Ballas, Karleigh Ballas, and Audrey Collyer; grandson, Carter Rhodes; aunts, Linda DiNardo, Binghamton, Gwendolyn Rifenbury, Kirkwood; uncle, Albert White; cousins, Albert White, Jared (Sandra) White, James Carnniff, and Julia and Connor Reynolds; plus numerous other relatives.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Albert and Mary (Nagy) White, and Orville and Vivian (Stout) Rifenbury.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 7 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 305 Murray Hill Road, Vestal, NY, with a visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
