Chenago Bridge: Frank R. Ashman, 83, passed away October 13, 2024. He is survived by his beloved family; children Darren, Devin (Jacqueline), Nichole (Patrick) Telfer, Dana (Christin) and Damon (Michele); 12 precious grandchildren, Jordan (Samantha), Gavin (Katie), Maxwell (Hayley), Morgan, Cameron, Catie, Lauren, Madison, Rocco, Corey, Alexander and Sophia; siblings, Sally (Dick) Everett, Bonnie (Jim) VanAbs, Carol (Frank) Eskesen, Sharon (Jim) Keough, Lynda (Randy) Hedger, Raymond (David) Ashman; former daughter-in-law, Colleen; brothers-in-law Scott (Maureen) Hause and Kevin (Christine Barnaby) Hause, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special family friend, Pat "PK" Kephart, who was a source of comfort and positive energy to Frank and his family this past year. He was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of almost 60 years, Nancy Ashman in 2023, his parents Raymond and Ida Ashman and parents-in-law, Willis and Dorothy Hause.
Frank graduated from Binghamton North High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Matco Electric for 33 years, where he mentored countless electricians and retired as a project manager. Frank was devoted to his family and the community. He especially enjoyed family vacations to Florida and the Jersey shore and attending all his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. For over 20 years he was a coach and officer for the Chenango Bridge Civic Association Little League. He also coached and played softball until he retired to care for Nancy. He was a longtime member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church where he gave generously of his time as an usher and on church building projects. Above all he will be remembered as the family patriarch. The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff of Wilson Hospital ST5 for the special care and attention provided to Frank and his family
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday at the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, 740 River Rd. Binghamton, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Friday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton.
