Gary W. Swingle, 73, passed away September 24, 2025 at his home. Gary is survived by his beloved family, his wife of 52 years, Debra Swingle; their children Bryan (Leann) Swingle and Corie Swingle; 2 cherished grand-children Steven Fitzpatrick and Isabella Swingle, whom he nicknamed "Sparkplug"; his brother Thomas (Debra) Swingle; his sister Karen (Thomas) Morrison; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors, his cohorts at Frito-Lay and his dog Ferbie. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Norma Swingle. Gary was a Master Mechanic, having worked at Frito-Lay in Kirkwood for many years. He could MacGyver anything and even held patents for equipment he designed for Frito-Lay, as well as having fabricated his own custom dune buggy while dating Debra. Gary was a VW aficionado to the extreme and was a former member of the Penny VW Club. He was also a talented artist and enjoyed baking, especially girdle busters. He was devoted to his family. He enjoyed sitting on his rooftop looking at the stars and watching storms move in. Gary was simply bigger than life and his legacy is too great to be limited by words.
