George J. Stroka, 86, died January 9, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna Stroka, their children; David (Maureen) Stroka, Daniel (Becky) Stroka, Norene (Thomas) Tasber, John (Hallie) Stroka and Linda (Christopher) Riemer, grandchildren; Kaylee (Ke), Molly and Danika Tasber, Ebony, Noah, Henry, Brynn and Andrew Stroka, Zachary, Abby, Kelsey and Tyler Riemer and his sister Rita Russin. He was predeceased by his father Andrew Stroka and his mother Mary Stroka Dawes. George served in the U.S. Marines from 1953-56. He worked at Vail Ballou Press, Parlor City Printing and retired from the Broome County Printing Dept. He loved polka music and with his wife was a long time member of the Polka Paraders. He loved entertaining his grandchildren with tall tales of his life.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango St. Binghamton. You are invited to watch a live-stream of the Mass at:  Burial with military honors will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.


The family extends their appreciation to Lourdes Home Care and all the aides who cared for George during his illness.
