Gerald F. Farr Obituary

“In life we loved your dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, that no one will ever fill.” In life we loved your dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, that no one will ever fill. Sunday May 15th, 2022, Heaven gained another angel. Gerald “Jerry” F. Farr, 73, of Newark Valley, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family. If anyone was ever around him, we know that he made them laugh. He was the biggest jokester that any of us ever knew. It did not matter if he was having a bad day or not, he was always making jokes. He was a joy to be around. Jerry was an Army Veteran, who served in Vietnam. He had gotten many medals in his time serving. He also served in the Army National Guard and worked many years at the West End Armory in Binghamton and the Dryden Armory, where he retired. In his free time, he loved watching NASCAR, football, and baseball with his son. He rooted for any team Gary liked. He was always one to go to the Topper, Stu’s, and JB’s to visit friends and throw a couple beers back and have a good time. Jerry is survived by his son, and best friend Gary Farr, his daughter, Kim (Tim) Vallequette, his grandchildren, Kristen Holt, and Tyler Vallequette, His great granddaughter, Sophie George, his sisters Joyce Matias, Nancy Livermore, his brothers, Harold Farr Jr and Randy Farr, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerry is predeceased by his father, Harold Farr Sr, his mother Betty Farr (Frazer), his furry companion, Cooper, his brother, Tracy Farr, his sister, Deberra Trowbridge, his sister-in-law, Sharon Farr, his brother-in-law, Robert Livermore. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family honoring the memory of our Dad. In lieu of flowers, Jerry asked that we please consider making a donation to The Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band, whom Jerry loved to listen to. Please send donations to: Maloney Memorial Pipe Band, 501 S. Benita Blvd, Vestal, NY 13850
