It breaks our hearts to announce the tragic passing of Jakob M. McCloe on May 30, 2023; our hearts however rejoice that he was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father and his mother, Mare` Espada who died May 18, 2023. He is survived by his loving family; his "ma" and dad Tory and Nathan Brown; his father Matt McCloe; siblings Sydnie, Ethyn, Odin, Journee and Max; grandparents Rich (Christine) Atkinson and Janet (Bob) Lucik; aunts and uncles Paula (Kelly) Ponte, Ashley Ponte, Dakota Atkinson, Tristin McCloe, Ashley Lucik, Mike Espada and Shelby (Sabrina) Huffman; several cousins; countless friends and his beloved dog Oakley. In addition to his mother, Jakob was predeceased by his grandmother Tina Atkinson. Jakob was a member of Two Rivers Church, where he was active in the youth group and enjoyed going on a mission trip to Ethiopa. Jakob was a student at Chenango Valley High School. He was naturally athletic and enjoyed many sports. He was on the school varsity football and wrestling teams and also enjoyed basketball and golf. He was also on the school honor roll. He loved his family and many friends dearly, treating everyone like family. Known to many as "JakeBoss", his charm, personality and good looks made him a true ladies man and simply the coolest kid in school. Jakob's family is deeply grateful to the Warrior Community and the Two Rivers Church for the generous outpouring of love and support during their time of loss.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Monday at the Two Rivers Church, 1 Chrisfield Dr. Johnson City. The funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in Jakob's memory to Two Rivers Church to support church mission programs. Funeral arrangements provided by the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home.
