James Daniel Casey

James D. Casey, 81, died suddenly December 26, 2021 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gerry Casey and their children; Denise (Roger) Swezey, Theresa (Rob) Struble; grandchildren, Brianna (Deonna) Swezey, Skylar (Jennifer) Struble and Danielle (Frank) Dasta; brother John (Alberta) Casey; sisters Frances (Harley) Lewis, Anne (Dan) Burdick, Ellen (Mark) Harrison; sister-in-law Jacqueline Knifer and brother-in-law Thomas (Tina) Finch; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Juliana and a brother Michael. Jim worked for many years as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Local 693. He will always be remembered as a great storyteller and jokester.
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton,  Msgr. Michael Meagher will officiate. (Due to road construction approach from Bevier St). The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 - 10:50 am. A private burial will occur Monday at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family requests donations be directed to the Salvation Army in memory of Jim's service. Please sign his online guestbook.
