James L. Wagner, 80, went to be with the Lord July 1, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Priscilla Wagner, two sons James (Frances) Wagner and Richard (Christina) Wagner; two sons-in-law Michael Cortright and Todd Cortright; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; sisters Alice (Dan) Maerkl and Martha (Dan) Smith; one brother Charles (Sue) Wagner, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his two daughters Marilyn Cortright and Elizabeth Cortright and two grandchildren McKay and Hope. James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as a Supervisor from the City of Binghamton Department of Public Works after almost 40 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing as well as the many years he camped at Camp Carol at Black Lake.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his memory to the camp fund at Primitive Methodist Church, 4 Ackley Ave. Johnson City, NY 13790.
