Janice Fernald

Janice Fernald, 85, of Binghamton, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Charles E. Fernald.

She is survived by her children, Ricky C. (Lillian) Fernald, Daniel W. (Christine Barnes) Fernald, and Robert R. (Nancy) Fernald; grandchildren, Dylan R. Fernald, Renee Conley, and Jennifer Fernald; great-grandchildren, Alanna Fernald, Colton Conley, and Elliana Conley; brother, William J. (Fran) Williams; sisters, Carol (Donald) Warner and Barbara (Larry) Warner; and her sisters-in-law, Connie Marhefka  Williams and Linda (John) Vitale. She was predeceased by her mother Catherine Williams, father William D. Williams; step-mother Carrie E. Williams; siblings, Robert L. Williams, Judith C. Singer, Kenneth Edwards, and her sister-in-law, Allison Edwards.

Janice was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she went and was always smiling and bubbly, even during her final days. She was an animal person who loved Poodles, especially her favorite dog, Lexi. She was the co-owner of C&R Used Cars for over 40 years working alongside her husband, Chuck, where she specialized in bookkeeping and upholstery. Janice was strong-willed and made sure she did things her way all the way to the end.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at Chenango Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation in Janice’s honor to the Broome County Humane Society or Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
