John M. Lasicki, 90, passed away August 17, 2025 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford, surrounded by his loving family. John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia, in 2023 and his parents Julian and Catherine Lasicki, brother Clement Lasicki and sister Regina Slacik. He is survived by his four daughters Katherine (Dee Compton) Lasicki, Elizabeth (Ron Roddam) Lasicki, Margaret Ingersoll and Renee Dallimore; four grandchildren, Bradford (Eleanor) Ingersoll, Kurtis (Sara) Ingersoll, Jacob (Keylin) Roddam and Anna Roddam; two great-grandchildren, Claire Ingersoll and Addison Ingersoll; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Lasicki.
John was born in Johnson City, NY during the flood of 1935, and was transported home from the hospital in a row boat. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving from 1953-57 as an Embassy guard in Madrid, Spain and Belgrade, Yugoslavia. “Lefty Lasicki” was an ace pitcher for the Broome Technical Community College baseball team, and after graduation, he founded Binghamton Cartage trucking company with his brother Clem and served as Vice-President. John was a die-hard NY Yankees fan, had a fantastic sense of humor, and absolutely loved his family beyond measure. The epitome of a loving husband, and a great girl dad before that was a thing, he was an outstanding example for many in his own family and beyond.
Burial will be at the Holy Spirit Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conferred. Memorial contributions may be made by dedicating a gift in his name to the Disabled American Veterans organization.
