John E Lewis passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 19, 2025.
John was predeceased by his father John H. Lewis. Since childhood John was affectionately known as “Johnny” by some.
John is survived by his son Kyle Applegate Lewis, and his granddaughter Kya. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Lewis, sisters Jacqueline (Jackie) Delk and his twin sister Jean Curry, in which John insists to everyone that he was eight minutes older. Johnny is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
John loved the Legend “Bob Marley” and loved to wear his clothes and practiced the belief about “One Love”.
John graduated from the Binghamton School System. He was an avid swimmer and loved to dive off the high diving board. He was a career Salesman, winning many awards for his achievements. Johnny was also a participating member of Catholic Charities, he loved doing odd jobs for them, especially snow removal, land scaping, and moving jobs.
John was his best in the kitchen where he developed many unique and popular recipes which are legendary, and still in demand.
The entire Lewis Family is grateful to the ACT Team for the care and support shown to John over the years.
