On Monday December 27, 2021, after a rich and rewarding life, John Rudd went off to the river to ease his mind and free his soul. He was 85 and passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Judith M. Rudd, and Bud Lindeborn. He is survived by his daughters Bonita L Rudd (Lance Milks) and Ann Marie Rudd; his grandson John W. Henry; sisters-in-law Marjorie Bryant and Nancy Michael; several nieces, nephews, cousins, longtime loyal friends Ronald A. Smith and Elaine Sinclair.
John attended school at Whitney Point Central. After serving in the United States Army, he worked as an auto body technician locally until he became the owner of Johnny Rudd’s Collision. He spent each summer boating with his girls at Cayuga Lake for over 30 years. He also had a connection with the St. Lawrence River. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially making them laugh. Being a long time resident of Castle Creek, he was always willing to help a neighbor in need.
At John's request there will be no services. Those wishing to honor his memory may make a contribution to the BC Humane Society.
