Binghamton: John P. Manculich (Sonny Manny), 80, passed away January 30, 2025 at Mercy House, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved family; Carole, his wife of 61 years; their children Lori (Charles) Morgan and Kerstin Caputo; 6 grandchildren Trevor (Rebecca) Morgan, Ashley (Mike) Kushner, Brittany (Andy) Anthony, Alexis (Joe) Aston, Tori Whaley and Charlie Caputo; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Kathy Fallon; niece Beth Ann O'Brien; a special employee, Marissa Squires and her son Andrew; and two special friends, Fred Akshar and Paul Battisti.  Sonny's passion in life was work and since founding U-Save in 1978, he devoted himself to his business operations. When not working, he enjoyed his cottage in Alexandria Bay and driving his race boats. He attended Calvary's Love Church in Johnson City. Sonny had a special connection with children, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Calvary's Love Church, 1315 Reynolds Rd. Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Following the service he will be honored with a tow-truck procession ending at his business U-Save, on Front St. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in his memory to Mercy House.
