Judy Cease Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy, our loving wife, mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She passed away on Friday August 13, 2021 at the age of 78, at her home in Binghamton, NY with her family by her side. Judy was born on May 6, 1943 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Clyde and Edith (Summers) Warner. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Cecil and Irene Warner until the age of 6. She so loved her grandmother, that her wish was, to be buried with her, and that wish will be honored. She married her husband Robert D. Cease Jr. of nearly 52 years on August 16th 1969. She was a much loved mother to her only daughter Christine Williams.    As a teenager, Judy was a member of the Girls Drill Team from the Boys Club. Judy loved gardening, playing Friday night card games with her friends, casinos and the slot machines. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing Scrabble with her daughter. She also liked to read James Patterson books and had an obsession with watching Rizzoli and Isles. Judy was so loved, she had lifelong friends – 60 to 70 plus years with some; friends from childhood, friends near and far. She was more than a friend to them, she was family. She was always willing to offer a helping hand. If she couldn’t do it, she would find someone who could. Judy leaves behind a family that she was very proud of and loved very much. She was often called the family matriarch. When Judy spoke, everyone listened. She was sometimes the family therapist. She would listen, offer advice and often joke that she would hang a sign that would say, “The Doctor is Out”. Her surviving family includes her husband of 52 years, Robert D. Cease Jr. of Binghamton, NY, her only child Christine Williams (Laurence Savage) of Norwalk CT, her sisters, Nancy Warner of Conklin NY, Elaine Mullinnex (Lee) of Binghamton, NY her brother Gary Warner of Binghamton, NY and her sister-in-law Rie Warner (David) of Montrose PA., numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and great, great nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is predeceased by her two brothers; David Warner (Rie) on 11/16/2017 and John Warner on 3/16/2019   Visiting will be held from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton, with a funeral service at 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Ararat Cemetery. Please sign her guestbook at www.HEFuneralHome.com
