Kalyb S. Poirier, 29, passed away September 9, 2024. He is survived by his fathers, Benjamin (Kelly) Poirier and Michael (Jenn Greenmun) Savage; step-mom Chrissy Whitmarsh; siblings, Brendyn Savage, Madisyn Savage, Schyler Savage, Elizabeth Jackson and Addison Poirier; grandparents Fred and Lois Poirier, Sarah Butler, Thomas and Shirley Savage, Tammy and Craig Perry; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved German Shepherd Hannah. Kalyb was predeceased by his mother Tess Savage; his brother Elyjha Savage and grandfather David Butts.
Kalyb graduated from Newark Valley High School, but lived much of his life in and around Binghamton. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all outdoor sports, especially hunting and fishing. He loved riding motorcycles, quads and BMX. Until moving back home last year, he had worked as a private security officer for Sterling Security in Michigan.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday September 17 at the Nimmonsbug United Methodist Church, 918 Upper Front St. Binghamton, with Rev. Harold Wheat officiating. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Hillcrest. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:00-10:50 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.JDRF.org) in memory of Kalyb. .
