Kenneth Edgar Grannis, 82, died at his home August 16, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Margaret, their sons and daughters-in-law; Kevin (Michele) and Stephen Loretta, his precious grandchildren; Meghan, Abigail, Kenny, Mark and Michael; his brother Gene (Linda),many nieces, nephews, cousins and his grand-dog Primrose. He was predeceased by his parents Marion and Edgar and siblings Harold, Gerry, Carol and Alan "Tiny". Ken graduated from Vestal High School, where he was a wrestler and football player. He was the team's half-back and kicker affectionately known as "Golden Toes". He retired from Azon after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing with his lifelong friend Dean Masland. Ken and his wife were foster parents for 83 children over 31 years. He was a loyal Giants football fan, collected eagles and was a member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at Vestal Hills Memorial Park (Meet in front of office by 10:50 am). In lieu of flowers, please make a gift to Lourdes Hospice in Ken's memory.
