Leslie “Les" Wilmarth, born August 6th, 1924, passed away January 9th, 2026 in the arms of his loving son Carl. Les was a full fledged, participating member, of the Greatest Generation; raised during the hardships of the Great Depression, serving his country honorably in Europe in World War II, returning from war to marry the love of his life, Ada Ruth “Ruth" Lewis and continue a full 44 year career with IBM, Endicott, NY. Les led an incredibly full life and was constantly active in both Ellen’s and Carl’s lives and supported their activities and projects, as well as his devotion to St. Mark's Episcopal church where he was an active member and served on various committees and positions throughout his life. He was a member of the St. Marks-Vestal Masonic Lodge #435 , and driver for the children's burn unit of the Shriners Hospital well into his 80s. He is survived by his son Carl Wilmarth, Salt Lake City, and daughter in Law, Corinne; granddaughters Hannah and Nora and great granddaughters Hadley and Lakey. Carl wishes to acknowledge and thank all of the people who have helped support Les in his last years at Elderwood Village and Willow Point Nursing Home, providing incredible care and loving support for Les; and his special friends, Dominque, Karin, and Rev. Dawn Victoria.
A graveside service will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery in Kingsley, PA, at a later date to be announced.
